Punjabi Maa Ki Dal (Black Urad Dal)

There are so many different styles and types of prepared “Dhal” dishes out there, each of them unique in flavour, texture and origin.

This week, on the menu, we are sharing another one with you, Punjabi Maa Ki Dal. It is another heart-warming, healthy, protein-rich, smooth and delicious dish made with Black Urad Dhal, Onions, Tomatoes, Garlic, Ginger and many amazing spices. This is one of the favourites of many vegetarians and is a dish that even avid meat eaters will absolutely love!

Dhals are typically eaten with rice or roti (faratas), accompanied by several different side dishes, similar to most indian dishes.
